Josh A. Cagan wrote a thing http://dft.ba/-6Kxz and I responded http://dft.ba/-6L0k !
Fanart of The Doubleclicks, courtesy Josh A Cagan! It was based on this conversation!
True story! I do not handle spiders well. Typically, smashing and fire are the best responses.
The GoFundMe thing is still open, so if you want to kick something in there, or via PayPal, every little bit helps!
That’s it for today!
Things have been going not well lately. If you are so inclined, you may consider helping this way:
I’ve set up a GoFundMe thing.
ANYWHO… On to the art! Here’s some of the stuff I’ve been doing since I last posted.
The Doubleclicks are on tour, and I got to make a bunch of art for them to use! That’s the poster from the upcoming #NerdNightOut show, and below are some wallpaper versions of the other art I’ve done, including the art for these shows!
And here’s fan art of Molly Lewis, based on a secret show she recently did!
I’ve also recently become a fan of Bob’s Burgers. So naturally I drew myself as Louise.
I did a long series of watercolors of animals in menswear. I also put together a couple of fabrics with these paintings. (A fabric close up!)
Have a Space Bat!
Hotrod auf einen Bären, based on this episode of Roderick on the Line. (Go here to see some in progress drawings!)
I also got to do the new art for the Girlfriend Mode podcast!
And finally:
Query: Would you like Space Bat t-shirts?
I’ve had this idea for a while now for doing a comic about all the things we can’t see. I don’t want to say much now as I’m still fleshing things out, but part of that fleshing out was starting to tackle small vignettes to help fill out the universe a bit. The first full on comic-y thing I’ve tried aside from Hourly Comic Day in ages. My nerves are a mess. (And here is the Tumblr link for sharing the comic around, better that bandwidth than here!)
P.S. The title probably isn’t final, but for now it’ll do. If you know me, you know how terrible I am at naming things. Lol.
Going to Emerald City Comic Con? Wanna find me?
Saturday, March 2, 2013 ~4:00pm until 6:00pm
Gathering in the Lobby of the Washington State Convention Center, possibly making our way to the food court or some other locations with a table I can sit at. I will bring stuff to draw on, you will bring yourself and hang out! In theory, you won’t need ECCC tickets – we’re meeting in the lobby, and if we go to the food court, you might be able to join, or if we go to a nearby restaurant or something, you may also be able to join. I don’t really have more specific details than this, I’m king of winging it!
Alrighty! On to the art…
Did you know that Paul and Storm are doing a web series called Learning Town?
I made a new shirt! You can get it on Zazzle!
I made some Jonathan Coulton related Valentine cards you can print out at home, download them here!
That’s it for today!
It is that time of year again soon! Here’s my 2013 edition of Nerdy Valentines! Go here to download the high res version to print a copy at home!
One week left to take advantage of my $5 (probably line art) avatar offer (usual costs here, and examples)! I try to Ustream and YouTube them when I can.
I’m also pretty busy, so this next week will be it if you want anything from me in December. I will possibly also be busy in early Jan., too…
The next Live (Donation or not) Drawing (previously 1, 2, 3 , 4, 5 ) will be Saturday the 15th, probably from about 1pm on, I can be more specific as the date nears. Same general rules for donations and requests, if you can’t well, just come along and watch me draw whatever anyway. Lively chat will help give me ideas!
Seriously, because I would love to pay bills, you know? Maybe have a fancy Christmas dinner since finances prevented thanksgiving…
Here are some examples of holiday avatars I’ve done recently!
And here are some other general portrait style avatars I’ve done recently.
And then there’s the fan art style avatar, this being Angela of The Doubleclicks.
And speaking of fanart…
Art inspired by the Dammit Liz Holiday special, a recent live show featuring @Stepto, Kirby Krackle’s Kyle Stevens, Molly Lewis, The Doubleclicks, Nerdprov, Dammit Liz and more!
Sara Chicazul, Maker of Things.
And a bonus dragon, because wheeeeecoffeewheeeee!
I had that conversation with the very fun Josh A. Cagan (Who has a very fun podcast!), and then I…
Next we have the product of my friend Alice and I joking around on Twitter about John Hodgman, and his potential to take over for Wilford Brimley as a spokesman…
Some time later I noticed Hodgman responding to someone on twitter about being drawn in Edward Gorey style, so I…
And further, Alice sent me a ticket to see a show – the first time I will ever get to see Hodgman live! I got really excites, and ended up…
SO, there you have it! That is mostly what I’ve been up to. It isn’t much, I’ve been sort of penniless, running out of supplies, and having medical issues and mobility drama, so productivity sort of tanked for a while. It happens, I guess.
